Flintwork in Marlow

Flintwork in Marlow

Marlow sits on the Thames with Chilterns villages behind it, so brick-and-flint is part of the older building character: field flint on boundary walls and elevations, brick at quoins and openings. Alterations usually need that existing finish matched; a new wing may instead want a cleaner knapped face. Colour of local field flint can shift between nearby hills, so photos of the stones matter. We cover matching, lime restoration and knapped new work for homes and professional-led projects in and around Marlow.

Typical projects we take on in Marlow

• Extending or altering a property where new flint must meet old
• Restoring weathered external flint and replacing hard cement pointing with lime
• Contemporary knapped flint on a new extension or garden/boundary wall
• Coordinating flint detailing with architects and main contractors

How to start a project in Marlow

Send photos of the flint (or drawings for new work), the property postcode, and a short note on what you want to achieve. We can advise which approach fits and what happens next.
